Krista Baty, R.N., M.H.A., has been appointed chief nursing officer for the Scott & White Healthcare – Round Rock region, effective Monday, May 16. Baty comes to Scott & White from 91-bed Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, where she served most recently as chief nursing officer. She brings almost 20 years of progressive nursing and leadership experience to her new role.
“We’re delighted to welcome Krista, a highly-qualified candidate, after conducting a national search,” said Ernie Bovio, CEO at Scott & White Healthcare – Round Rock. “Her training and experience make her well-positioned to lead our efforts in continuing to provide quality medical services at Scott & White.”
Baty obtained her bachelor of science degree in nursing from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and her master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Early in her nursing career, Baty worked in various positions in North Texas before joining Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman, part of Texas Health Resources, eight years ago. At the not-for-profit acute-care hospital, she began her career as the manager of the Medical/Surgical department and ICU and advanced quickly within the organization. She was then promoted to chief nursing officer where she implemented the clinical practice model, and was instrumental in achieving the hospital’s Pathway to Excellence designation.
Prior to joining Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman, Baty served as a nursing supervisor at Falls Community Hospital in Marlin, Texas, where she directed patient care in the Emergency Department and the medical floor. Later, she moved to Dallas where she served as the director at Key-Whitman Surgery Center.
Baty is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives, and the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives.
