Scott & White Healthcare has announced that Debra Monticciolo, M.D., chief of section for Breast Imaging, has been named President of the Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Monticciolo was elected at the society’s national meeting recently where she served as Program Chair and Faculty in Breast MRI. Dr. Monticciolo also serves as Vice Chair of Research for Scott & White’s radiology department and is a professor of radiology at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

Gill Naul, M.D. chairman of department of Radiology at Scott & White Healthcare, and professor of radiology at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. “She has an unwavering commitment to excellence in breast imaging and breast cancer treatment.”
Dr. Monticciolo currently serves as Vice Chair of the Commission on Quality and Safety for the American College of Radiology (ACR) and has also been appointed to the Council Steering Committee of the American College of Radiology, a body that represents the entire U.S. Radiology Council and serves as liaison to the Board of Chancellors of the ACR. Her appointment was announced at the national ACR leadership meeting in May. Additionally, Dr. Monticciolo serves as Chair of Accreditation Programs nationwide for the American College of Radiology and has served as national head of the Mammography Accreditation Program for the last four years.
The American Board of Radiology has appointed Dr. Monticciolo to Chair of the American Board of Radiology Final Certifying Examination in Breast Imaging. She has been a written board exam contributor and oral board examiner for several years.
