Scott & White Healthcare will begin construction within the next 60 days on a new clinic in the Killeen – Harker Heights area, one offering a unique combination of services that will provide immediate urgent care as well as helping patients maintain healthy lifestyles.
“One of the new rules for health care delivery is the requirement to innovate, with an eye toward achieving better access, services and health outcomes for our community,” said Glen Couchman, MD, chief medical officer for Scott & White Healthcare. “This clinic represents a new model of care and expands on Scott & White’s leadership in advancing solutions that will bring the highest quality medical care to our patients.”
This new clinic will be located on east US Highway 190 at the Killeen city limits line, and open in the summer of 2012. It will be 13,000 square feet, initially staffed by three family medicine physicians, and open 12 hours each day, seven days a week.
Designed to provide quick, convenient access to routine care and care for urgent minor emergencies, patients will be welcomed to the clinic without an appointment.
A classroom and teaching kitchen are part of the design.
