Scott & White Healthcare held a groundbreaking ceremony August 21, 2012, for a five-story multispecialty pediatric clinic next to McLane Children’s Hospital Scott & White in Temple. The 112,000 square-foot, $32 million facility will coordinate both outpatient and inpatient pediatric specialty services and physicians in one convenient location.

“Building the clinic next to the hospital creates a center of care for children unlike any other in this region,” said Reddy Beeram, M.D., physician-in-chief for McLane Children’s and chairman of pediatrics at Scott & White Healthcare. “We are so excited, especially since less than one year ago we opened McLane Children’s Hospital.”

Construction is expected to take no more than 14 months, so the new building should be open by the fall of 2013.
